One package of refrigerated, reduced-fat crescent roll dough

These fancy treats taste as great as they look, and are an easy way to serve a hot appetizer to a crowd, since you can cook dozens in the oven at the same time!


Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Spread dough out onto a lightly floured surface. With knife or pizza wheel, cut dough into 36 pieces about 1-1/4 inch square. (Each square will have about 10 calories.)

Cut sausage crosswise into half-inch slices.

Place a slice of sausage in the center of each square of dough. Press sausage down lightly into the dough and fold the four corners of dough up over the sausage, stretching the dough as needed as shown in photo.

Place wrapped sausages on ungreased baking sheet about 1 inch apart.

Bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until pastry is lightly browned.

Serve immediately while hot!
